The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a  Senior Manager Global Insurance, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Reporting to and partnering with the Vice President, Insurance, this role will be responsible for development and execution of risk financing strategies and collaborating with the business to promote cost effective and efficient solutions to protect 3M assets. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Developing and executing the company’s global insurance strategy for assigned insurance programs
• Supporting the business through data-driven decision making and thought leadership on risk insights, risk management, and mitigation efforts.
• Presenting 3M’s risk to insurers, including developing renewal strategies in conjunction with broker and business partners.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Twelve (12) years of insurance and risk management experience, or related field

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• MBA or similar advanced degree preferred
• Risk management or underwriting/insurance company experience
• Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Risk Management or similar accredited industry designations
• Advanced problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to understand complex insurance policies and contracts and actuarial and data analytics methodologies
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate complexity in simple terms.
• Excellent negotiation skills, with ability to balance optimizing outcomes with long-term relationship management
• Experience with due diligence/M&A, international programs, captive management, RMIS systems, contract review, and data/analytics to support decision making.
• Strong project management skills, including establishing and maintaining timelines, tracking metrics, developing dashboards and communicating key insights and recommended actions.
• Monitor trends in the global (re)insurance market as well as emerging risks
• Unwavering integrity and treats others with openness, respect and dignity
• Demonstrated capability of working with agility
• Focus on continuous improvement and ability to enhance/redesign processes
• Exceptionally collaborative with the ability to work independently and be a self-starter
• Proven ability to establish credibility and work effectively across functions and business groups.

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
