The objective for this presentation is to arm you, the Risk Professional, with knowledge of potential threats, what the proper controls are for them, and how you can insure them. You will walk away from this meeting successfully able to start discussions with your c-suite, or your supervisors, on how to establish or reassess your current plans. Presentation Description U.S. businesses, global or regional enterprises, are increasingly operating in a hostile cyber environment. Breaches are growing in numbers at an alarming rate placing personnel data at great risk, both PII and PHI. The use of crypto-ransom attacks are becoming more common as companies and institutions, such as hospitals, are experiencing ransom attacks that hold their systems and data hostage. The threat of data destruction (e.g. The Sony Attack) may yet prove to be the most dangerous trend. All of these attack vectors are set against the backdrop of intellectual property theft that costs the U.S. economy nearly $400 billion each year. As the diversity of threats increases, and the Internet of Things comes to dominate both our Information Technology and Operational Technology infrastructures, it is imperative that risk transfer / financing solutions be fully nested within the broader ERM landscape. To this end, Chicago RIMS will host a meeting to discuss the range of these issues with the Chicago FBI Field Office. This 90-minute discussion will include two presentations and thought provoking dialogue. Location
